AC –v– Dentist

The Plaintiff’s claim in this case was for damages for personal injuries caused as a consequence of negligent and inadequate orthodontic treatment over a period of 5 years.  Between 2006 and 2011 the Plaintiff’s dental treatment consisted of the fitting of an upper removable brace, the extraction of a pre-molar and the fitting of upper and lower fixed braces.  Unfortunately the Plaintiff was left with significant cosmetic difficulties and on-going pain in her teeth requiring further orthodontic treatment.  The Defendant claimed that the Plaintiff contributed to the extent of her injuries, however shortly before the trial date the case settled for the full value in the sum of €100,000 plus costs.
