Rachael studied Law in University College Cork and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 having trained in Eugene F. Collins Solicitors. She joined Augustus Cullen Law in 2003 where she specialises in professional negligence and medical negligence. Rachael is at the forefront of the emerging niche area of disputes involving financial mis-selling/fraud and claims arising from negligence on the part of professionals such as solicitors, brokers, architects and surveyors. As part of the medical negligence group Rachael is involved in a wide variety of claims including brachial plexus injuries, third/fourth degree tears, cosmetic surgery, acquired brain injury, GP claims, dental injuries and Accident and Emergency Department claims.
Recent Cases of Note
Rachael was recently involved in a highly complex professional negligence class action on behalf of hundreds of employees and members of an occupational pension scheme who were allegedly given negligent advice upon retirement. The case was successfully concluded with a multi-million Euro award in favour of the former pensioners being made against the company and the trustees.
