Ray studied at University College Dublin and qualified as a Solicitor in 2008. He holds a Diploma in Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring as well as a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Banking and Finance).
Ray works in our Property and Commercial Law Departments and he deals with a variety of cases. He works extensively in banking law and he has advised lending institutions in relation to corporate lending transactions. He advises shareholders and directors on Company Law matters and advises companies in a business focused and practical manner in relation to broad ranging issues. He advises on matters including shareholders agreements, share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, loan agreements, guarantees, and franchise agreements.
Ray advises numerous companies and joint ventures on the various legal aspects of renewable energy projects. This relates to both Wind and Solar Development. These advices include project finance, and the banking and the security aspects that arise in this regard. He has also advised landowners where they have been approached by energy companies on the issues that arise when entering into option, lease and wayleave agreements.
He deals with a broad range of property matters including purchases, commercial leasing, agricultural property, mortgages, voluntary transfers, boundary rectifications and rights of way. Ray has also acted in respect to various property and commercial transactions involving nursing homes.
