Marie graduated from the University of Limerick with an LLB honours degree in Law and European Studies in 2008 and obtained an LLM from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2010, having specialised in Mental Health Law and Children’s Rights. Marie has attended international conferences on Disability Law and Policy and presented her research on children’s rights to academics and practitioners at the annual North/South Criminology Conference in 2010. Prior to completing her traineeship with Augustus Cullen Law Solicitors, Marie gained valuable experience as a Legal Research Advisor with the London based organisation, Statewatch.
Marie was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2014 and since qualifying has continued to work in the general litigation department, where she deals with a wide range of litigation involving the protection of personal and commercial interests including contractual and property rights, human rights, defamation and personal injury cases, as well as employment and agricultural rights. Marie is also qualified to practice in England and Wales and in 2014 obtained a Certificate in Higher Court Civil Advocacy from the Law Society of Ireland.
