The problems associated with vaginal mesh implants have recently been highlighted by the media given the fact that thousands of women have suffered injuries following the insertion of the mesh tape. Thousands of women worldwide have suffered significant injuries as a result of mesh implant surgery including chronic pain, difficulty urinating, the plastic mesh cutting into the vaginal wall and inability to engage in sexual activity.

AB v. HSE. The Plaintiff was referred by a General Practitioner to her local maternity unit for an ultrasound scan following a positive pregnancy test. She was seen in the ante natal clinic and underwent an ultrasound scan which unfortunately confirmed an early miscarriage and so the Plaintiff was booked for an evacuation of the retained products of conception (ERPC) three days later.
